The World of Musicals

The World of Musicals combines the greatest and most popular stories that are performed on stage. Thereby, the spectators immerse in the story of Sophie who wishes for only one thing: that her father walks her down the aisle. The only problem is that she doesn’t know who her father is, and her mother does not want to tell her the secret. However, Sophie finds an old diary of her mother. There, she finds out about three gentlemen who could turn out to be her father, and she invites them. The audience watches the artist as she sprinkles sand on the glowing glass table and paints beautiful sand images as she accompanies Sophie on her search for her father.

Through the hand movement of the artist, the form of Sophie changes and Velma Kelly emerges, taking revenge on her husband who betrayed her. Other legendary performances from “Chicago” follow, such as the corruption in the judicial system, which is shown in a satirical way. The scene changes, the sand images switch to the Phantom of the Opera where a chorus singer is imprisoned by the Phantom who is in love with her. The spectators eagerly follow the events, where Raoul tries to free his love from the Phantom’s clutches.

Then comes Cats, a particularly popular musical, in which the story of the Jellicles is told in sand. This quickly shifts to the classic „Notre-Dame de Paris“ where the artist moves the audience to tears as she tells the heart-breaking and unfortunate story of Quasimodo and Esmeralda in sand.

A further musical highlight and another heart-breaking story is told in sand. Here, after years of exile, the young lion Simba returns to his kingdom to overthrow the evil Scar. The musical sand show is rounded off by the musical hit “Cabaret” in which the love story of the cabaret singer Sally Bowles and the academic Brian Roberts is told. In this way, the fascinating, beautiful and unique world of musicals ends, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
